Are you unsure of or have you tried laser hair removal? No problem. Maine Laser Clinic & Spa offers full body waxing services: hair removal for eyebrows, legs, arms and more.
What should I expect during my waxing procedure?
You will be lead to a private room to prepare for the procedure. Our esthetician wears disposable gloves for each appointment to keep the treatment hygienic and sterile. A soy based antibacterial/antimicrobial wax that doesn’t adhere to the skin is then applied to the area with a stick and hair is removed from the root with a muslin strip. The wax is self-regulated and never reaches a temperature beyond 98 degrees. Tweezers are used for any remaining hair and soothing antibacterial lotion is applied to the area for comfort and cleanliness.
How should I prepare?
For those who have regular waxes, you’ll need ¼ inch of visible hair, and first-timers need ½ inch. The treatment will not be as effective if the hair is too short. If you are hypersensitive to pain, an anti inflammatory may be taken prior to treatment.
Does waxing cause breakouts?
Erythema or ingrown hairs can appear. To avoid possible breakouts, feel free to gently exfoliate the area a few days prior to your waxing appointment. If you are prone to ingrown hairs, a special solution can be applied daily at home to minimize and prevent from further ingrown hairs.
How often should I get waxed?
We suggest having a treatment once every 4-6 weeks. You can also have one as soon as two weeks as the hair is long enough. Waiting more than eight weeks or shaving in between will make the treatment more painful because the hair will be longer, more dense and harder to remove.
What is the cost for waxing?
The cost for a wax session varies. As always, the procedure is performed by a very skilled esthetician. At Maine Laser Clinic & Spa, we offer incredible services at very competitive prices. Why pay $80 or more at another location when you can receive superior treatments for almost half the cost?
